QAA was established in 1996. It is a membership organisation attracting 1000’s of high quality businesses from all over the UK. Its members are mainly contractors, installation businesses and tradesmen.

QAA gives customers enormous confidence and peace of mind when choosing suppliers. Many consumers, local authorities and professional buyers specify QAA Accreditation before placing valuable work and contracts.

QAA is an unusual type of trade body. It has massive credibility and "teeth"!!

Protection for Consumers

QAA has the most robust complaints investigation procedures of ANY trade body in the UK. In fact, this is an area where most trade associations fall woefully short in providing adequate consumer protection.
Many trade associations complaints procedures are very limited in their scope. They frequently cannot investigate complaints if membership has lapsed. They frequently do not appoint a suitably qualified independent inspector to produce a report on disputed installations. The member can opt-out of full participation therefore any decisions are not legally binding and enforceable.
QAA has mandatory conciliation, mediation and independent inspection procedures to deal with complaints. Complaints will be investigated even if membership has lapsed as long as the contract was carried out during the period of membership.
QAA is the founder member of The Quality Assurance Ombudsman Scheme (see Ombudsman Scheme). This gives consumers the knowledge and confidence that any bone-fide complaints will be robustly investigated and any awards are both legally binding and enforceable.
